About This Role

Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work site environment: In/on water. Work setting: Staff accommodation available. Staff accommodation provided. Remote location. Ship. Marine. Ensure safety and comfort of passengers. Determine geographical position using navigational instruments, maps and charts. Direct and oversee the loading and unloading of cargo. Maintain vessel's navigational instruments and equipment. Control, steer and navigate a vessel in various waterways. Enforce regulations in Canadian waters. Record vessel's progress, weather and sea conditions in ship's log. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Transport Canada Certificate of Competency.
