Truck Driver

About This Role

Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Tasks: Address customers' complaints or concerns. Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques. Professionalism in customer service. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : AZ class license. Air Brakes Endorsement. DZ class license. Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) clearance Certificate. Air Brake (Z) Endorsement. Commercial Vehicle Operator's Registration (CVOR) Certificate. Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports. Bill of lading. Driver logbook. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Maintenance and repair reports. Trip reports. Transportation/travel experience: Local. Long-haul. Provincial/territorial. Regional. Short-haul. Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Drive manual transmission vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Willing to travel for extended periods. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Handling heavy loads. Repetitive tasks. Screening questions: Are you available for shift or on-call work?. Do you have experience working in this field?.
