About This Role

Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Hog and pig farming. Hog management. Dusty. Noisy. Odours. Work setting: Rural area. Tasks: Handling animals. Monitoring animal health. Perform livestock feeding. Perform pig littering activities such as clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medication(s), identification of piglets, and castration. Treat livestock health issues. Weaning. Feed and tend animals. Clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens. Detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock and poultry. Perform general farm duties. Area of specialization: Swine. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Attention to detail.
