General Farm Worker - Harvesting

About This Role

Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Tasks: Apply the technique of hoeing between the row. Clean the crops. Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens and other work areas. Cultivate on vertical farming system. Cut agricultural crops. Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable lots and non-marketable lots. Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to the size, shape, colour and volume to fetch high price in market.. Level earth to fine grade specifications. Monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns. Plant, cultivate and irrigate crops. Shear and shape trees and plants with knife. Sort fruits and vegetables. Weeding. Write daily basic progress reports. Harvest crops. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock and poultry. Examine product for quality and its readiness for the market. Type of crops: Vegetables. Tobacco. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation.
