General Labourer - Farm

About This Role

Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Outdoors. At heights. Wet/damp. Hot. All weather conditions. Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer. Tasks: Apply fertilizers. Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens and other work areas. Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to the size, shape, colour and volume to fetch high price in market.. Guide growing shoots into optimal development positions. Pack fruits and vegetables. Pick row and orchard crops. Plant, cultivate and irrigate crops. Remove manually all suckers and water sprouts. Sort fruits and vegetables. Tie and secure plants. Train trees to produce more fruit of higher quality. Weeding. Clean work area. Harvest crops. Load, unload and transfer crates, supplies and farm produce, livestock and poultry. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Equipment and machinery experience: Farm truck. Forklift. Fruit harvester. Loader. Tractor. Planting equipment. Hand tools.
