Long Haul Truck Driver

About This Role

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy. Load and unload goods. Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform brake adjustments. Perform emergency roadside repairs. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Perform preventive maintenance. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Transport and handle dangerous goods. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks). Air Brake (Z) Endorsement. Documentation knowledge: Driver logbook. Trans-border documentation. Transportation/travel experience: Long-haul. Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Flexibility. Judgement. Organized. Reliability. Team player. Employment terms options: Early morning. Evening. Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years. Employment terms options: Morning. Night. On call. Day. Weekend.

What You'll Do

• Credentials: Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
