Install single-ply roofing system using waterproof sheet materials, such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Repair or replace shingles and shakes on sloped roofs of buildings. Repair or replace single-ply roofing systems. Supervise other workers. Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces below or above ground level. Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools. Install sheet metal flashings. Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Roofer Trade Certification. Working at heights training. Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. Rooftop Safety Training. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Area of specialization: Shingled roofs. Modified roofing system. Single ply sheet membrane roofing system. Tiled roofs. Skylights. Transportation/travel information: Willing to travel. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling.
